Summary
Dr. Caroline Sierra, PharmD, BCPPS and Dr. Norm Fenn PharmD, BCPPS will conduct a 1-hour knowledge-based continuing education webinar program. This program will highlight some of the unique challenges of precepting students whose native language is not English. This presentation will include tools to address these issues and discuss cultural considerations in working with these students.
Learning Objectives:
At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
1. Describe current enrollment of students whose reported native language is not English.
2. Discuss the impact of cultural beliefs on communication between student and preceptor.
3. Assess a student’s ability to effectively communicate their educational needs.
4. Formulate a plan in collaboration with a student to enhance their communication skills.
Accreditation:
PPAG has accredited this knowledge-based webinar for 1.0 contact hours (0.10 CEUs) of continuing education credit for pharmacists. UAN # 0180-0000-19-002-L04-P
The Pediatric Pharmacy Advocacy Group is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. In order to receive credit, participants must register for the program, attend the program, and fill out a post-program survey. Webinar programs are 100% supported through program registration fees and PPAG membership dues, and is not supported by Industry.
Group Pricing: Group pricing is available through online registration for CE only. Groups will need to email Jennifer Chow at jennifer.chow@ppag.org their attendance list with each participants name, email, NABP# and DOB in order to receive credit.
