How Can Student Pharmacists Improve Your Practice? Try Paying Them!!

Student pharmacists are valuable resources to pharmacy departments. Dr. Ozioma Ogbuokiri Olowu, PharmD, BCPPS will conduct a 1-hour knowledge-based continuing education webinar to tell the story of Cook Children's experience with our student pharmacists program that began in 2007 and has greatly evolved. The department has learned many lessons along the way, overcome challenges, and celebrated successes. Dr. Ogbuokiri will share the daily management and sustainability of a mutually beneficial student pharmacist employment experience.

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
1. Analyze current literature pertaining to student pharmacists impact on patient care.
2. List advantages and disadvantages of implementing and participating in a student pharmacist employment experience from a manager and student perspective.
3. Evaluate a hiring and training strategy that supports the program goals.
4. Determine methods for preventing burn-out and performance problems in student pharmacists as employees.

ACPE logo PPAG has accredited this knowledge-based webinar for 1.0 contact hours (0.10 CEUs) of continuing education credit for pharmacists. PPAG is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. In order to receive credit, participants must register for the program, attend the program, and fill out a post-program survey. Webinar programs are 100% supported through program registration fees and PPAG membership dues, and is not supported by Industry. UAN #0180-0000-17-015-L04-P

Please note that credit (if available) is only provided to registered attendees participating at their own computer and phone. Simple instructions with a link to the program will be sent when you register and again the day before the webinar.
