Navigating the Communication Gap: Health Literacy in Pediatrics

Dr. Michelle Condren, Pharm.D., BCPPS, AE-C, CDE, FPPAG will conduct a 1-hour knowledge based continuing education webinar that will emphasize the importance of considering health literacy when communicating with children and their caregivers and provide resources for implementing health literacy friendly communication techniques in pediatric practice.

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
1. Describe the impact of health literacy on health outcomes in children.
2. Describe recommended elements for delivering literacy sensitive healthcare and education.
3. Given a patient scenario state the health literacy sensitive considerations in developing an educational plan for that patient and family.

ACPE logo PPAG has accredited this knowledge-based webinar for 1.0 contact hours (0.10 CEUs) of continuing education credit for pharmacists. PPAG is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. In order to receive credit, participants must register for the program, attend the program, and fill out a post-program survey.
