Dixie Leikach is the Vice President of Operations for YOUR Community Pharmacy. This is a group of independently owned pharmacies in the Maryland. The mission of YOUR Community Pharmacy is to be the healthcare solution center making a difference in the lives of our communities. Dixie is also President and Executive Director of PEER, Pharmacy Ethics, Education and Resources.

Dixie graduated from the University of Maryland, School of Pharmacy in 1992. Since then, she has served on many pharmacy organization boards, including the Maryland Pharmacists Association Board of Trustees, the Maryland Continuing Education Coordinating Committee and Maryland’s Drug Therapy Management Task Force. She is a Past President of the Maryland Pharmacists Association, the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy Alumni Association, and Lambda Kappa Sigma International Pharmacy Fraternity. In 1998, Dixie was selected as the Distinguished Young Pharmacist of the Year for both the state of Maryland and LKS. LKS has honored her with the LKS Distinguished Service Citation in 2012 and the LKS Merck Vanguard Leadership Award in 2015. Dixie also received the Excellence in Innovation award and the Bowl of Hygeia from MPhA. Volunteering at The Associated, Baltimore’s Federation of Jewish Charities and in her synagogue, as well as working part time as a Mary Kay Independent Sales Director helps keep her active within the community outside of pharmacy.

Dixie is married to fellow pharmacist, Neil, and they have two boys, Eric and Marc. They are also the happy dog owners of Berger and Cookie. Dixie and Neil opened their first pharmacy, Catonsville Pharmacy, in February of 1999. Finksburg Pharmacy followed in 2003 and Paradise Professional Pharmacy in 2007. Dixie and Neil are dedicated to preserving independent pharmacy and are working to provide opportunities for other pharmacists to become owners of their own pharmacies.
